You do not need to wear a uniform to carry its pride. That is the idea behind Steel Salute.

Steel Salute was created for veterans, military families, aspirants, and proud supporters of India's armed forces. It is a brand built on lived experience, lasting respect for service, and the belief that military pride can be worn with dignity every day.

a bit about me

I am Wg Cdr S D Gaur (Retd), founder of Steel Salute.

I am an Indian Air Force veteran and an alumnus of the National Defence Academy.

My years in uniform shaped not only my career, but also my values: discipline, duty, pride, responsibility, and respect for those who serve.

Every design is created by me. If it does not feel right, it does not print.

My journey in uniform

The uniform gave me more than a career. It gave me a way of life.

My journey began with the dream of serving the nation in uniform. From my early years as a cadet to life as a commissioned officer, the armed forces gave me a way of life that has stayed with me long after retirement.

The uniform teaches more than skill. It teaches character, resilience, and a deep sense of belonging to something larger than yourself. That sense of belonging is one of the foundations of Steel Salute.

A life in the Air Force

Served as a helicopter pilot.

Over the years, I flew the Mi-8, Mi-17, Mi-17 1V, and the Mi-26, the world's largest helicopter.

Service life brought responsibility, leadership, demanding conditions, and unforgettable experiences.

It also gave me a lifelong connection to the armed forces community and a lasting respect for the men and women who wear the uniform.
